Job summary

Barnhart Canada is seeking an HSE Lead for Fort McMurray, AB. You will support and implement safety programs, policies, and standards across branches and clients, focusing on incident management, training development, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has health and safety expertise in construction, oil sands, or mining industries and thrives in a collaborative, safety-first environment. Travel to Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo sites will be required.

Qualifications

• NCSO/CRSP/CSP designation required or in the process of attaining.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a Construction, Oil sands, Mining or Heavy Equipment industry.
• Degree, diploma, or certificate in occupational safety preferred.
• Experience in training program and learning objective development preferred.
• Understanding of crane functions, capabilities and standards is an asset.
• Understanding of Transportation Compliance is an asset.
• Ability to gain access to all oil sands sites in Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo Region.

Responsibilities

• Support and implement safety programs, policies and standards for the branch and clients.
• Incident management and investigations.
• Develop training programs and learning objectives for site safety.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and client requirements across sites.
