Job summary

The City of Brandon is seeking a Safety and Health Educator to develop and deliver safety education programs, identify hazards and promote a strong safety culture across City workplaces. Under the Safety and Health Coordinator, you will analyze trends, prepare timely reports and support compliance with safety regulations.

The role is a full-time permanent position at 36.25 hours per week with an annual rate of pay of $86,408.25.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Valid Basic First Aid with CPR.
• Valid Class 5 Manitoba driver’s license.
• Completed accredited occupational safety and health certificate or diploma.

Responsibilities

• Develops and delivers an annual safety education and communications plan.
• Produces safety campaigns, toolbox talks and training resources.
• Conducts workplace visits to identify hazards and education needs.
• Promotes participation in hazard reporting and safety initiatives.
• Measures effectiveness and reports results with corrective actions.

Education

Grade 12, G.E.D., C.A.E.C., or Mature High School Diploma

Basic First Aid with CPR certification

Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s license

Accredited occupational safety and health certificate or diploma
