Job summary

Metrie, North America’s largest interior millwork manufacturer and distributor, is seeking a Safety Specialist to support safety initiatives, policy development, and KPI reporting. The role reports to the Director, Manufacturing and involves incident investigation, training, and corrective actions to drive a safe workplace.

Qualified candidates typically hold an EHS degree and have strong writing and verbal communication skills, plus experience in regulatory compliance and data analysis.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree or 2-year degree in a safety related (EHS) field from an accredited college or university, previous internship experience recommended.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • Ability to set priorities and execute problem solving skills
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office tools
  • Adherence to organization's security and confidentiality policies
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous EHS experience is a plus

What You’ll Do

The Safety Specialist is responsible for supporting a variety of safety and health initiatives and projects which include developing, coordinating, and performing safety training for the organization, providing support for program and policy development, and ensuring regulatory and organizational standards are being met. Additionally, this position requires a thorough understanding of EHS principles to support EHS initiatives, KPIs and metrics, and incident investigation and root cause analysis.

In adherence to the principle of pay transparency, we are pleased to disclose the base pay for this full‑time position at Metrie. The base pay range for this role is set at 60,000−70,000. It is important to note that this position may also qualify for discretionary bonuses or commission payments. The specific base pay within the range will be contingent upon an individual's skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. Furthermore, it is essential to highlight that our remuneration ranges are established based on the role, level, and location.
