Job description

Our client is looking to add a Safety Communications Officer to their team in downtown Edmonton on a 6 month contract basis.

The responsibilities for this position include :

• Monitor 3 phone lines and the radio in order to action follow-up tasks, multi-tasking through various databases to provide information and updates
• Perform inbound and outbound calls to check in on remote workers
• Following emergency protocol and crisis protocols as required
• Handle inbound calls from external customers regarding inquiries, complaints, etc.

Qualifications for this role include :

• 3+ years of relevant experience within an emergency communications environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task efficiently
• Ability to handle complex calls and stressful emergency situations with a calm demeanor
• Strong typing skills
• Intermediate skills with MS Office Suite

This role requires availability for days, afternoons, nights shifts 7 days / week, with a 5 day 40 hours work week.

• There will be premiums for afternoon / night / weekend shifts
• Must be available to work on-site 100% of the time

Potential for contract to extend or convert to a permanent role based on performance
