The Communications Officer will be part of the team responsible for providing general support to CPA Alberta’s communications priorities. The position will be responsible for communications planning, project management, content development, and other communications activities as required. This role reports to the Manager, Communications.
CPA Alberta has offices in Edmonton and Calgary and provides hybrid Telecommuting opportunities (working from home a maximum of 3 days a week).

Please note this is a 12-month contract position.
What You Bring
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in communications, marketing, business, public relations, English, or related field
- Experience in developing communication plans, contributing to digital and print communications initiatives, and crafting targeted messages
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Effective interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills
- Proven organizational, strategic, planning, and implementation skills
- Proficiency working with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
What You Will Be Doing
- Developing and executing communications plans and strategies, including collaborating with stakeholders (internal and external) and building relationships
- Creating and/or editing content for CPA Alberta initiatives, including:
- Articles and blog posts for online and print
- Digital content, including web copy and social media posts
- Speaking notes
- Various communications materials, including brochures and advertisements
- Supporting the development, coordination, and implementation of promotions and communications for CPA Alberta conferences, events, and programs
- Providing communications support for other CPA Alberta projects as directed
- Other duties as required
