Job summary

Language Trainers is seeking a freelance Russian tutor for 1:1 lessons in Abbotsford, BC (UFV library or nearby public location). Total hours: 50 across 25 x 2-hour sessions. Schedule: twice weekly, Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday between 12:00 and 21:00.

Native Russian speaker or qualified teacher preferred; visa/work permit required; location within 30 km. The ideal candidate will have teaching or translation/interpreting experience, and be able to adapt materials for a 22-year-old learner at

Qualifications

• Must be a native Russian speaker or hold a teaching qualification.
• Have experience as language teacher, translator or interpreter.
• Have valid work permit/visa.
• Live within 30 km of Abbotsford.

Responsibilities

• Conduct one-to-one Russian lessons with the student.
• Prepare and adapt teaching materials to Elementary level.
• Coordinate schedule and sessions with the student and guardians if needed.

• Location: at UFV library, Abbotsford V2S 7M8, or a public location closer to downtown Abbotsford
• Student: 22 y/o gentleman
• Current language level: Elementary
• Schedule: twice per week, either on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or/and Sunday, any time between 12noon and 9:00pm
• Start Date: as soon as possible
• Motivation: heritage and potential business

Ideal Candidate

• Be a native Russian speaker and/or hold a relevant teaching qualification
• Have experience as a language teacher, translator or interpreter
• Have a valid work permit/visa
• Live within 30 km of the specified location

Conditions

• Schedule and location may be flexible based on availability
