Job summary

OEM Remanufacturing is seeking a Production Assistant to support general labour tasks in the production area. You will help with cleanliness, organization, and safety while assisting production personnel in completing daily duties.

The role requires a high school diploma and good English communication. Prior experience in a heavy-duty equipment facility is preferred, with crane/rigging and forklift familiarity considered a plus.

Position Overview:

In the role of Production Assistant, you will provide general labour support and assistance to the production personnel within your assigned department. In addition to this, you will oversee the production area cleanliness and organization, contributing to a safe and efficient work space.

Job Description:

• Pick up and deliver parts and products to appropriate work stations
• Monitor and submit tools for inspection and calibration
• Manage maintenance and housekeeping binders
• Entry of information into computer database
• Maintenance of schedule board
• Locate required parts in other areas of the building
• May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Crane/rigging as well as Power jack/Forklift experience is preferred
• Must be able to communicate written and spoken English effectively
• Must be a team player with strong communication and organizational skills
• Must have basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
• Ability to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds
• A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
• Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner and comply in all aspects of the organizations policies and procedures.

Note:

• This posting is for a static day shift; Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day
• Candidate may at times be asked to slightly adjust schedule to provide some coverage at the beginning of the afternoon shift
• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
• Will require successful completion of drug and alcohol testing, a criminal background check, and a medical assessment
• Hourly Rate: $24.40 - $25.46 / Hour

Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
