Job summary

A leading company in the energy sector is seeking an RSS technician to maintain and operate their Rotary Steerable fleet. The role encompasses inventory management, equipment servicing, and direct interaction with shop operations. Ideal candidates should possess a high school diploma and have a strong mechanical inclination, along with excellent organizational skills. Opportunities for additional compensation are available for field service tasks.

Job description

Position Overview

The RSS technician is responsible for maintaining Pacesetter’s Rotary Steerable fleet and assisting in daily MWD shop operations. The RSS technician will disassemble, assemble and ship RSS units. The role also assists with kit assembly and parts orders. Working directly with Shop Manager expectation is to keep an organized inventory and coordinate asset distribution.

Responsibilities

- Servicing and inventory of mud pulse kits and equipment

- Testing failed components from the field (transducers, RFD’s, laptops)

- Possible hot shot service to the field by running tools and equipment out to job sites; additional compensation provided for each hot shot

- Building up and tearing down of Pacesetters Rotary steerable tool

- Operating the torque master, Crane, and forklift

- Filling out RSS tear down reports on PRIME(Pacesetter’s proprietary system)

- Working with RSS team on organizing builds and teardowns

- Filling out parts orders RSS parts orders

- Maintaining torque master and work area for cleanliness and efficiency in operations

- Responsible for loading and unloading RSS After hours on call

Education, Experience, Technical Qualifications

- High School diploma required

- Experience in a warehouse or shop environment would be a definite asset

- Valid driver’s license

- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

- Mechanically inclined

- Positive attitude; willingness to do what is needed and accommodate fluctuating activity levels
