Job summary

Source Code in Toronto is seeking a Sr. Software Developer for a 1-year contract with a hybrid work model (3 days onsite / 2 days remote). From October 20, 2025, onsite will be 4 days a week, 1 day remote; from January 5, 2026, onsite will be 5 days a week.

The role focuses on translating technical specs into working applications and solving complex software problems. The candidate will work with Java-based web applications, REST APIs, React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3 and NodeJS, including

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a designer and developer in the large-scale multi-client web applications
• 10+ year of hands-on working experience of Java development with Oracle or SQL database
• 5+ years of hands-on experience of RestAPI, React, Typescript, HTML5, CSS3, NodeJS
• Knowledge and experience of microservice architecture as well as a demonstrated ability to apply core architecture principles to enhance a product's extensibility and maintainability
• Working experience of RXJS, NextJS, VueJS

Responsibilities

• Translate technical systems specifications into working, tested applications.
• Develop detailed programming specifications, writing and/or generating code.
• Compile data-driven programs, maintaining, and conducting unit tests.
• Resolves and troubleshoots technical problems during the use and operation of software packages, including implementation, conversion and migrations.
