Job summary

Source Code in Toronto is seeking a Sr. Java Developer to lead integration and development of web-based and cloud-based solutions. Hybrid role with 3 onsite days and 2 remote days, subject to change.

The role involves analyzing requirements, integrating OSS and APIs, and ensuring modular, maintainable code. Strong experience with Java and enterprise-scale systems is required. The candidate will work closely with clients, perform design walkthroughs, and support testing of changes by other team

Qualifications

• 5+ years of OSS product integration experience.
• Experience with COTS-based Business Automation solutions (IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation).
• Experience in API and microservices integration.
• Ability to design modular, well-structured programs from business requirements.
• Strong analytical skills to understand and translate business needs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirement documents and liaise with clients.
• Facilitate IT development, design, construction, testing, promotion, implementation of web-based/n-tier, cloud-based and mainframe applications.
• Responsible for integration of OSS products into new and existing systems.
• Create and walkthrough Systems Response documents, Technical Specifications, Application Inventory, and Implementation Plans.
• Prepare test plans, test data, and unit-testing of programs.
• Prepare implementation plans and promotion of programs.
• Respond to client queries and troubleshoot production incidents as assigned.
• Conduct/participate in design walkthroughs as well as test case and test results walkthroughs.
• Support testing of changes by other team members.

Hybrid - Candidate MUST work 3 days onsite and 2 days remote -

Starting October 20, resources are expected to come into the office 4 days per week. Starting January 5, resources are expected to come into the office 5 days per week. This is subject to Hiring Manager's Discretion.

Security Level: CRJMC (must get clearance before start date)

• Responsible for in integration of Open Source Software (OSS) products into new and existing systems
• Creation and walk-through of Systems Response documents, Technical Specifications, Application Inventory, and Implementation Plans.
• Preparation of test plans, test data, and unit-testing of programs.
• Preparation of implementation plans and promotion of programs.
• As assigned, response to client queries and troubleshooting of production incidents.

Must-Have's:

• Experience with COTS based Business Automation and Case Management solutions (ie: IBM Cloud Pack for Business Automation)
• 5+ years of experience in the integration of Open Source Software (OSS) products into new and existing systems
• Integration of service APIs and micro-services to existing or new web services.
• Ability to understand and analyze business requirements, and to design structured programs that efficiently satisfy these requirements
• Ability to write programs that are modular, well-structured, and easy to maintain
