Job summary

Homewood Health in Guelph, Ontario, is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to join the Addiction Medication Program on a part‑time, on‑site basis. You will work within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team delivering patient‑centered care to individuals overcoming addictions.

The role requires current RPN licensure in good standing, 2+ years of relevant experience, BCLS, and familiarity with the Mental Health Act.

Qualifications

• Licensed as an RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing.
• 2+ years of experience with addictions and psychiatric care preferred.
• BCLS for Healthcare Providers.
• Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and community resources.
• CBT/DBT knowledge or group facilitation is a plus.
• Ability to manage crisis situations and care for acutely ill patients.
• Understanding of assessment and treatment of psychiatric disorders.
• Awareness of measurement-based care and its use in clinical decisions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient computer skills and multiple systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to stable patients recovering from addictions within a therapeutic milieu.
• Support the program's group‑model delivery and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Conduct clinical assessments and initiate treatments according to standards.
• Administer psychiatric and non‑psychiatric medications and therapies.
• Engage with teams, participate in clinical discussions and family conferences.
• Assist in crisis situations and manage risks as they arise.
