Job summary

St. Joseph is hiring a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join the General Internal Medicine Clinical Teaching Unit in Hamilton.

The role focuses on nursing care, assessments, and collaborative practice with RNs to support safe, effective patient care across acute medical and geriatric needs. You’ll coordinate priorities, perform IV medication administration, telemetry monitoring, and use patient information systems.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurse of Ontario required.
• Education in one of Practical Nursing diploma/certificate categories with IV and/or IV certificate credentials.
• Current BCLS/HCP certification required.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in care of seniors and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to promote health and assess needs.
• Collaborate with RNs to ensure safe and effective care.
• Assist with transfers and patient lifts.
• Utilize computers and patient information systems.
