Job summary

The Kativik Regional Government (KRG) is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician-Plumber for permanent on-rotation work in Nunavik. The role focuses on preventive maintenance and repairs of plumbing systems, oil heating and related fixtures across municipal facilities.

Qualified candidates hold a Journeyman Plumber certificate, a valid class-5 driver’s licence, and several years’ experience with building-systems maintenance. The position includes rotating schedules and travel lodging as needed.

Qualifications

• Possess a Journeyman Plumber certificate.
• Good knowledge of plumbing principles.
• Ability to read drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Complete timely inspections and report equipment defects.
• Perform maintenance and repairs to plumbing and oil heating systems.
• Clean, adjust, test and repair oil heating appliances.
• Install, alter and modify drainage, waste and vent systems.
• Provide input for planned and scheduled work.
• Assist with scoping, estimating, planning and execution of new work projects.
• Ensure installations and repairs meet codes.
• Comply with safety rules.
• Perform general building maintenance and repairs.
• Perform other duties as required by supervisor.
