Job summary

Northview in Inuvik, NT is seeking a Room Attendant to join the hotel team. You will maintain guest rooms and public areas to Northview’s cleanliness standards, ensuring a clean, comfortable, and well-presented environment for guests.

Responsibilities include cleaning rooms and common areas, replenishing supplies, inspecting rooms for quality, and reporting maintenance issues. The role requires attention to detail, independence, and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience is an asset.
• Familiarity with standard housekeeping practices and sanitation standards.
• Familiarity with common cleaning products and safe handling practices is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service assigned guest rooms, bathrooms, kitchens (where applicable), and common areas in accordance with standards.
• Prepare rooms for arriving guests by making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing surfaces, and replenishing linens and amenities.
• Inspect guest rooms to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and presentation meet standards before arrival.
• Identify and report maintenance deficiencies, damaged furnishings, and safety hazards.
• Respond professionally to guest requests and coordinate with other departments for timely resolution.
• Complete scheduled deep-cleaning and rotation cleaning tasks as assigned.
• Maintain housekeeping carts in a clean, organized, and stocked condition during each shift.
• Handle lost and found items per company policy.
• Follow established cleaning procedures, infection control practices, and safe chemical handling guidelines.
• Work efficiently to meet productivity and quality standards with attention to detail.
• Support housekeeping and other hotel operations as required.
• Comply with health & safety policies and applicable legislation.

We are looking for aRoom Attendantto join our Hotel team in Inuvik, NT. Reporting to the Operations Manager- Hotel, you will deliver a clean, comfortable, and well-presented environment for guests, this role supports the day-to-day operations of the hotel by maintaining assigned guest rooms and public areas to Northview’s quality and cleanliness standards. Room Attendants perform thorough and efficient housekeeping services, identify maintenance concerns, and help ensure guest rooms and common areas are consistently prepared to provide a positive guest experience

Responsibilities:

• Clean and service assigned guest rooms, bathrooms, kitchens (where applicable), and common areas in accordance with company and industry standards
• Prepare guest rooms for arriving guests by making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing surfaces, and replenishing linens and amenities
• Inspect guest rooms to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and presentation meet established standards prior to guest arrival
• Identify and promptly report maintenance deficiencies, damaged furnishings, and safety hazards
• Respond professionally to guest requests and coordinate with other departments to support timely resolution
• Complete scheduled deep-cleaning and rotation cleaning tasks as assigned
• Maintain housekeeping carts in a clean, organized, and fully stocked condition throughout each shift
• Handle lost and found items in accordance with company policy
• Follow established cleaning procedures, infection control practices, and safe chemical handling guidelines
• Work efficiently to meet established productivity and quality standards while maintaining attention to detail
• Support housekeeping and other hotel operations as required
• Comply with all Northview Health & Safety policies, operating procedures, and applicable legislation

Qualifications & Experience:

• Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience considered an asset
• Familiarity with standard housekeeping practices, cleaning procedures, and sanitation standards
• Familiarity with common cleaning products, equipment, and safe handling practices considered an asset

Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and quality
• Ability to work independently while managing time effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to consistently meet established productivity and quality standards
• Professional attitude with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to provide a criminal record check free of relevant convictions
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and perform physically demanding work, including repetitive bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs
