Job summary

Northview Residential REIT is seeking a dedicated Cleaner to join our Residential team in Fort McMurray, AB. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will keep common areas, vacant suites, and renovated units clean, safe and welcoming for residents and visitors.

Responsibilities include deep-cleaning, carpet care, disinfecting kitchens and bathrooms, and assisting with suite turnover. We value safety, attention to detail, and reliable, independent work in a fast-paced property environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physically demanding cleaning tasks (standing, walking, bending, lifting)

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain residential common areas, vacant suites, and renovated suites to established standards
• Perform routine and deep-cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, steam cleaning carpets, washing walls and windows
• Disinfect kitchens and bathrooms, including fixtures and appliances
• Maintain clean, orderly common areas, suites, entrances, and other areas
• Inspect for damages or safety hazards and report to supervisor
• Safely operate cleaning equipment and store products per procedures
• Assist with suite turnover and preparation of vacant units
• Keep an organized supply of cleaning products and communicate replenishment needs
• Support Maintenance and property operations as needed
• Perform other duties related to cleanliness and upkeep

We are looking for a Cleanerto join our Residential team in Fort McMurray, AB. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, presentation and overall condition of Northview’s residential properties. This role supports the preparation and upkeep of common areas, vacant suites and renovated suites, helping ensure properties are clean, safe and welcoming for residents and prospective residents. Through consistent attention to detail, safe work practices and responsive service, Cleaners contribute to a positive resident experience and support the efficient operation and presentation of Northview’s properties.

Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain residential common areas, vacant suites and renovated suites to established cleanliness and presentation standards
• Complete routine and deep-cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, steam cleaning carpets and area rugs, washing walls, windows, window coverings, ceilings, and other surfaces
• Clean and disinfect kitchens and bathrooms, including fixtures, appliances, cupboards, cabinets, and other surfaces
• Maintain clean, orderly, and trash- and debris-free common areas, suites, entrances, and other assigned areas
• Complete carpet cleaning and treatment using industrial carpet cleaning equipment and approved cleaning products and chemical treatments, as required
• Inspect assigned areas during and after cleaning and identify damage, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or other deficiencies requiring attention
• Report maintenance issues, damaged fixtures or furnishings, and other property concerns to the appropriate supervisor or Maintenance team
• Safely operate and maintain cleaning equipment, tools, and supplies and follow established procedures for their proper use, storage, and care
• Handle cleaning products and chemicals in accordance with manufacturer instructions and Northview Health & Safety requirements
• Assist with suite turnover and preparation of vacant or renovated units as required, ensuring suites are secured upon completion
• Maintain an organized supply of cleaning products and materials and communicate replenishment needs
• Provide support to Maintenance and other property operations as required to maintain clean, safe, and presentable properties
• Perform other duties related to the cleanliness and upkeep of Northview properties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

• Previous cleaning or janitorial experience an asset
• Experience cleaning residential, commercial, hotel, or other multi-unit properties an asset
• Experience using commercial cleaning equipment, including carpet cleaning equipment, an asset
• Familiarity with common cleaning products, tools, and safe cleaning practices

Requirements:

• Ability to perform physically demanding cleaning tasks, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and moving cleaning equipment and supplies
• Ability to work independently and complete assigned cleaning tasks within established timelines
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean, orderly, and presentable properties
• Ability to safely handle cleaning products, chemicals, and equipment in accordance with established procedures and Health & Safety requirements
• Ability to communicate professionally with residents, staff, contractors, and others while working on the property
• Ability to identify and communicate maintenance concerns, damage, safety hazards, or other property deficiencies
• Ability to work in vacant suites, occupied residential buildings, common areas, and other property environments
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed, and participate in an on-call rotation
• Ability to provide a clear criminal record check free of relevant convictions
