Qualifications

  • Licensing: Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Brakes.
  • Driving Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant commercial driving experience.
  • Equipment Operation: Ability to safely operate heavy commercial collection vehicles and hydraulic systems.
  • Safety Commitment: Ability to meet safety standards for safety-sensitive roles.
  • Reliability: Strong attendance and flexibility for early start schedules and overtime.
  • Physical Fitness: Able to meet physical demands of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Safe Fleet Operation: Safely operate vehicles to complete assigned routes.
  • Safety Inspections: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete logs.
  • System Operations: Operate hydraulic systems using proper techniques to prevent damage.
  • Reporting & Maintenance: Report mechanical write-ups, route hazards, or safety incidents to management.
  • Service Quality: Maintain high route productivity and vehicle cleanliness.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to traffic laws, bylaws, safety policies, and PPE standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with Dispatchers and Supervisors to support daily operations.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other operational duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Licensing: Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Brakes and a clean Driver’s Abstract.
  • Driving Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant commercial driving experience.
  • Equipment Operation: Demonstrated ability to safely operate heavy commercial collection vehicles and hydraulic systems.
  • Safety Commitment: Ability to successfully satisfy all company standards for safety-sensitive operational roles.
  • Reliability: Strong attendance record and flexibility to support early morning start schedules and operational overtime when needed.
  • Physical Fitness: Able to meet the physical demands of the role every shift.
Responsibilities
  • Safe Fleet Operation: Safely operate GFL vehicles to complete assigned routes.
  • Safety Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections daily and complete required trip logs, paperwork and e-logs.
  • System Operations: Skillfully operate hydraulic systems using proper techniques to prevent equipment damage.
  • Reporting & Maintenance: Promptly report any mechanical write-ups, route hazards, or safety incidents to management.
  • Service Quality: Maintain high route productivity, customer service standards, and vehicle cleanliness.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, municipal bylaws, company safety policies, and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with Dispatchers and Supervisors to support smooth, efficient daily operations.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other operational duties as assigned by leadership.
