Job summary

Speers Construction Inc. in Revelstoke, BC, is seeking a Rock Truck Operator to support multiple projects across British Columbia and Alberta. You will perform daily vehicle checks, operate rock trucks (CAT 740/745 or similar), and follow site traffic controls.

The role requires physical fitness, willingness to work shifts, read design documents, and adhere to environmental plans and safety rules. Training and on-site guidance will help you contribute to efficient material hauling and accurate

Qualifications

• Experience operating off-road haul/rock trucks is required.
• Physically fit to perform duties and willing to do shift work.
• Must have a valid Class 5 License.

Responsibilities

• Pre-shift check & completion of Mobile Equipment Check List.
• Warm up and refueling prior to start of workday.
• Operate the haul truck safely on designated haul roads, following site traffic control and radio communication protocols.
• Load, haul, and dump material accurately according to site plans and supervisor direction.
• Read and understand project design details and drawings and environmental procedures.

We are currently looking for a Rock Truck Operator. The successful candidate will be an individual with a flexible schedule to work with our team on multiple projects throughout British Columbia and Alberta. The right candidate will have the training and confidence to aid and contribute to our team, and projects.

Expectations

• Pre-shift check & completion of Mobile Equipment Check List.
• Warm up and refueling prior to start of workday.
• Keep windows, any mirrors, and lights clean & free of any items obscuring visibility.
• Maintain operable fire extinguishers, fire tools, shovel & Pulaski on machine.
• Maintain daily logbook of machine hours.
• Immediately notify supervisor and/or site mechanic of any problems.
• Be familiar with environmental spill response procedures.
• Operate the haul truck safely on designated haul roads, following site traffic control and radio communication protocols.
• Load, haul, and dump material accurately according to site plans and supervisor direction.
• Operators must be familiar with and able to read documents commonly used with their equipment, such as design details and drawings.
• Be familiar with & understand project’s Environmental Response Plan and company’s environmental objectives, rules, and procedures.
• Operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner according to Provincial regulations and site safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience operating off-road haul/rock trucks is required (e.g., CAT 740/745 or similar articulated/rigid-frame trucks).
• Experience in mining, pit, or heavy civil construction environments is an asset.
• Physically fit to perform duties and willing to do shift work.
• Class 5 License is required.
