Job summary

Promise Robotics seeks a Robotics Software Developer to contribute to core robotic manufacturing tech. This early-career role supports building simulation scenes, motion planning, perception, and robust software in production environments.

Required are a CS/Robotics/Eng degree and strong C++/Python skills, plus experience with ROS or ROS 2 and at least one robotics simulator. Onsite work at Edmonton/Calgary labs with a collaborative startup culture.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong programming ability in C++ and Python.
• Fundamentals in algorithms and data structures; multitasking in a startup.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain simulation scenes mirroring production cells.
• Implement motion routines and tune motion planning in ROS 2/MoveIt2.
• Develop perception components for object detection and pose estimation.
• Write clean, tested C++ and Python code with unit/integration tests.
• Debug software–hardware integration with robotics/hardware teams.
• Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and CI pipelines.
