Job summary

Apera AI is seeking a Software Developer (Co-op) to join the Vue engineering team for an 8-month term (Jan 2027 - Aug 2027) in our Vancouver office. You will contribute to real-time machine vision applications powering robotic systems, building features in C++, and supporting image processing and robotics integration.

This in-person role offers hands-on experience in a professional R&D environment with production code, lab hardware, and collaborative planning.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of C++, including object-oriented design and memory management.
• Solid foundation in linear algebra, vectors, and 3D transforms.
• Experience with version control (Git).
• Experience with software projects through coursework, personal work, or prior co-op/internships.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily standups, planning, and code review sessions.
• Implement C++ modules that interact with vision data and robotics inputs.
• Run and validate code in a live robotic lab environment.
• Write tests and help investigate edge cases or bugs in production builds.
• Contribute to documentation and developer notes for future hires.
