Job summary

Ethos Automation Brantford, ON seeks a seasoned robot integrator to lead installation, commissioning, and programming of automated cells at customer sites and in our facility. You will develop templates, configure I/O, and work with Project Managers across teams to ensure projects meet specifications and timelines.

You must hold a Mechatronics diploma, have 5+ years in automation, and be travel-ready. This role offers a full-time onsite position with opportunity for growth and on-site training.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechatronics or related automation field.
  • 5+ years in custom automation, programming robots.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead installation and commissioning of robotic cells at customer sites and in-house.
  • Program robot paths and offline programming; configure I/O and PLC communications.
  • Troubleshoot robotic systems to maximize uptime and performance.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and design teams to meet project specs and timelines.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience
  • Must have 5 years of hands-on experience in programming robots. (Fanuc Robots essential, Kuka, Yaskawa)
  • Programming language
  • Experience in robotic servo resistance welding, arc welding, spot welding and material handling is required
  • Excellent understanding of robotic coordinate systems
  • Some exposure to offline simulation
  • Working knowledge of communication protocols (Enet)
  • Good understanding of robot program flow and programming theories
  • Good understanding robot safety set-up familiar and programming theories
  • Good understanding robot safety setup, familiar CSA Z434 and RIA robotic safety standards
  • Computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and AutoCad
  • Excellent mathematical and organizational skills
Job Description
  • Support existing and develop new robot templates and platforms
  • Setup structure for robot programs and overall architecture
  • Lead the installation and commissioning of custom automated robotic cells both at our facility and at customer sites, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to specifications.
  • Perform routine and emergency service maintenance on robotic systems at customer locations to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
  • Program robot paths, set up program structure and implement offline programming.
  • Configure robot I/O, weld interface and program call and communications with PLC
  • Anticipate and solve robotic problems (Troubleshoot)
  • Work closely with Project Manager regarding projects, monitoring workload and deadlines
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and specifications
  • Development of PLC, Robot and HMI Programs offline using custom electrical design and mechanical drawings for reference
  • Set-up and configuration of network architecture between devices and supporting equipment
  • Work in collaboration with Project Managers, Project leads, Mechanical Designer, Machine tool builder, and electricians to successfully complete projects and on budget
Experience And Education
  • Diploma in Mechatronics; Automation and Robotics Technician; Robotics and Industrial Automation or similar applicable course.
  • 5+ years of experience within the custom automation sector.
  • Must have strong professional written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have a valid passport and be eligible for travel.
