Job summary

Colonial Group in Ontario seeks a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician with 3–5+ years of field experience to inspect, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment.

The role requires travel to customer sites, keeping a clean service vehicle, mentoring junior technicians, and documenting work orders. Home location should be within 1 hour of the Bercon Hamilton shop for Ontario-wide coverage.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Apprentice 421A preferred or equivalent work experience.
• 3–5+ years heavy equipment experience; 2+ years aerial experience (JLG/Genie).
• Valid Heavy Equipment Service Technician License with 3–5 years related experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Experience in customer service.
• Strong mechanical background with engines and hydraulic systems.
• Understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Teamwork and strong verbal/written communication.
• Own tools applicable to position.
• Knowledge of Skyjack, JLG, Genie is an asset.
• Ability to test equipment up to 180 feet; Work from Heights training provided.
• Position supports all of Ontario; home location within 1 hour of the Bercon Hamilton shop.
