Job summary

County of Simcoe is seeking a labourer/flagman based in Beeton to support road maintenance activities year-round. The role includes operating tractors and heavy equipment, performing winter plowing and sanding, and driving various trucks as needed.

Requirements include a Grade 12 education and a valid DZ license with a clean driving record; AZ license is preferred. You must be able to work with minimal supervision and communicate effectively with the public.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education or educational equivalency.
• Must possess a valid DZ license with clean driving record.
• AZ license is preferred.
• Ability to work without supervision and make decisions.
• Ability to communicate diplomatically with the public.

Responsibilities

• Assist with road maintenance tasks, including shoveling and raking.
• Support platform and roadside maintenance, traffic repairs, and winter tasks.
• Operate a range of vehicles from small trucks to large plow/sander units as required.
• Record work orders and equipment logs; report major defects to Foreman.
• Comply with health and safety regulations and confidentiality policies.
• Redeploy in emergencies and perform other duties as assigned.
