Overview

Position: RN Chemotherapy – Cancer Institute

Location: Quincy, IL

Pay Range: $26.25 - $39.38 per hour | Based on Experience

Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

About the Role:

As an RN in the Infusion Room at Quincy Medical Group’s Cancer Institute, you will be an integral part of a compassionate team providing specialized care to patients undergoing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other infusion treatments. This role supports patients through some of their most critical health challenges, requiring attention to detail, clinical expertise, and empathetic communication. You’ll have the opportunity to grow your knowledge in oncology nursing through hands-on experience, guided learning, and certification opportunities, all while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes and quality of life.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other infusions such as iron, electrolytes, and supportive care medications in a safe, efficient manner.
  2. Assess and monitor patients throughout treatment for changes in condition, side effects, and lab value trends, initiating interventions as needed.
  3. Participate in a rotating pump call schedule to assist patients with troubleshooting infusion pump issues after completing chemo/immunotherapy certification.
  4. Engage in a structured 2–3 month orientation to learn QMG oncology policies, protocols, and departmental workflows.
  5. Complete an online chemotherapy/immunotherapy course within 12 weeks of launch, followed by a competency check-off with an OCN-certified RN.
  6. Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to safety and hazardous drug handling guidelines.
  7. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
  8. Assist with additional patient care needs to support overall department operations.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in Illinois required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
