Job summary

Farm Credit Canada is seeking a governance and risk professional to advance policy practices across risk categories. You will develop briefing materials, mentor staff in governance concepts, and support multiple risk management committees, leveraging your experience in policy development and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • A degree in economics, business administration or a related field.
  • At least four years of experience in a governance, risk management or policy management environment (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Extensive knowledge of governance in areas such as policy development.
  • Experience with industry standards and frameworks and committee management.

Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders and partners to understand and translate business practices and information into meaningful policies and related documentation across risk categories.
  • Coach and mentor others to understand and implement effective policy practices, governance through the three lines model and operate within risk appetite.
  • Develop materials including briefing notes and PowerPoints for executive and committee audiences, mentoring others in this area of expertise.
  • Provide support for FCC's risk management committees including managing process enhancements.

What you'll do

What you'll bring to the team
Required qualifications
  • A degree in economics, business administration or a related field

  • Extensive knowledge of governance in areas such as policy development
  • Experience with industry standards and frameworks and committee management
Preferred qualifications
  • Certifications related to risk management or governance, such as CRM, CRMP, GPC.D
  • Experience in financial services or regulated industries
  • Experience developing governance structures, practices and policies
