Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Risk Manager to oversee risk management across major infrastructure projects, including developing and implementing risk management plans, facilitating risk workshops, integrating risk data for decision-making, and providing periodic risk reporting to support effective project execution and stakeholder communication.

This role will sit in our Mobility Global Business Area. We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Climate change, urbanization and digitization trends are requiring today’s mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the world’s growing population. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.

Role accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing risk across major infrastructure projects. Your expertise will be critical in developing and implementing robust program and project risk management plans, ensuring these plans are adhered to by project teams, and verifying their successful implementation. A key part of your responsibilities will involve facilitating regular risk workshops, maintaining a strong understanding of the program and project activities to inform risk assessments, and providing guidance to teams on risk treatment plans. You will also play a crucial role in communicating risks to stakeholders to avoid surprises and ensure transparency throughout the project lifecycle.

Your responsibilities will extend to integrating program-wide risk data to support day-to-day decision-making, assurance processes, and effective risk management. You will organize and conduct schedule and cost risk workshops, including Quantitative Schedule Risk Assessments (QSRA) and Quantitative Cost Risk Assessments (QCRA), to ensure risk is thoroughly analyzed and mitigated. Additionally, you will provide accurate and reliable periodic risk reporting, highlighting performance trends and identifying areas requiring management attention. This includes preparing leadership and executive-level briefing papers summarizing key risks, mitigations, and risk performance. As part of your role, you will maintain a program-wide register of risks and opportunities, ensuring lessons learned are captured for future projects, and provide support for bids on major projects to ensure risk considerations are integrated from the outset.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 7-10+ yrs experience working on large construction infrastructure projects
  • 5+ yrs experience in client facing positions with strong client/stakeholder management
  • Demonstrated understanding of project management, change control, planning and scheduling, cost and commercial management and reporting
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and flexible; have the initiative and ability to tackle new projects and challenges daily
  • Health, safety, and quality focused
  • Collaborative working style and consulting style approach to clients
  • A logical approach and ability to think through complex issues to co-ordinate multi-faceted aspects of projects
  • Awareness of Value Management processes and techniques
