What is the opportunity?

Business Description

The Enterprise Chief Controls Office (ECCO) is a centralized first line of defense (1LOD) group with the goal of embedding a culture of risk ownership and operational excellence to elevate the control environment. They do this by driving consistency and quality of risk practices to minimize loss and regulatory sanction, drive cost efficiencies, and accelerate project execution to enable growth. The Practice Management team serves to coordinate and drive consistency across 1LOD risk identification, controls, issue management, and non-financial-risk management practices.

Description of the Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Risk Enablement and Delivery, under the newly formed Enterprise Chief Controls Office (ECCO) – the Manager, Risk Enablement and Delivery supports the coordination and execution of risk management initiatives across the first line of defense, developing enablement tools, executing training and communication programs, and preparing ad hoc executive materials to ensure effective stakeholder awareness and engagement. This role also involves monitoring feedback to support the continuous improvement of risk enablement efforts and enhance stakeholder adoption.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Coordination and Execution of Risk Initiatives (35%)
  • Development and Implementation of Enablement Tools (35%)
  • Training and Communication Program Execution (30%)

What will you do?

Coordination and Execution of Risk Initiatives

  • Assist in the planning and coordination of enterprise risk and control initiatives across the first line of defense (1LOD); collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate the seamless execution of risk programs
  • Produce regular and ad hoc materials such as dashboards and presentations that provide key initiative updates to an executive audience

Development and Implementation of Enablement Tools

  • Develop and refine internal enablement tools, templates, and guidance documents to support risk management practices; translate enterprise policies into actionable guidelines and resources for stakeholders
  • Work closely with data and policy experts to ensure tools meet compliance and operational requirements; gather feedback from users to continuously improve the effectiveness of enablement tools

Training and Communication Program Execution

  • Execute comprehensive training programs to enhance stakeholder understanding and adoption of risk management practices
  • Develop and deliver communication materials that effectively convey risk management strategies and updates; engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and incorporate it into future training and communication efforts

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, Communications or other related field; experience in executing enterprise-wide risk, control, or regulatory initiatives within the financial services industry
  • Experience in developing and implementing enablement tools, templates, and guidance documents that translate policy requirements into actionable resources
  • Experience in designing and delivering training programs and communication strategies to enhance stakeholder engagement and adoption of risk management practices
  • Experience in managing change initiatives, including developing strategies to facilitate stakeholder adoption and adapting to evolving risk management environments

Nice-to-have

  • MBA, CRM, PMP, GRC or other related designations
  • Proficiency in planning, coordinating, and executing projects across multiple teams ensures that risk management programs are delivered efficiently and align with strategic objectives
  • Experience in data reporting, operational risk analytics, or business intelligence within the financial services industry
  • Experience in building compelling narratives and curate information clearly and effectively to senior leadership
