Position Details

Title: Risk Management Specialist

Reports To: Director, Risk Management

Department: Risk Management

Term: Permanent Full-Time

Work Arrangements: Hybrid role based in Waterloo, ON. Minimum two consecutive days in the office every other week, plus one additional day per month. More days may be required for some roles.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Risk Management Specialist to join our growing Risk Management team! The role involves assisting the Director and Chief Risk Officer in overseeing all risk exposures across all lines of business, including corporate functions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain risk assessment and reporting processes to identify trends.
2. Identify opportunities to improve risk assessment and monitoring processes.
3. Collaborate across departments to ensure effective risk management frameworks.
4. Prepare risk reports for senior management and governance committees.
5. Research and develop risk metrics and key risk indicators for operational risks.
6. Maintain processes for risk event monitoring and reporting.
7. Develop risk quantification tools and perform annual risk assessments.
8. Review and improve risk monitoring processes based on data analysis and industry best practices.
9. Maintain and update risk management documentation and tools.
10. Lead projects related to risk management initiatives and improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in finance, risk management, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in financial services, risk management, or compliance.
• Knowledge of operational risk management practices is an asset.
• Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and other data management tools.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
