Job summary

FCC Canada, based in Toronto, seeks a Risk Analyst to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across major infrastructure projects. You will work with Project Controls, Construction, Engineering, and Safety teams to improve cost, schedule, quality and contract compliance.

Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations (PTUS)

FCC Canada, in a 50/50 joint venture with Webuild Civil Works Inc., will deliver the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line. This includes the design, construction, supply, and operation of three kilometres of twin tunnels underneath Pape Avenue between the Gerrard tunnel portal and the Don Valley bridge, two underground stations (Pape and Cosburn), two tunnel portals, three emergency exit buildings, and a rail switch/crossover near Sammon Avenue. The Pape Station connection will interface with the Toronto Transit Commission Line 2 subway and related works. The project uses a Progressive Design-Build (PDB) model, allowing greater collaboration between the project owner and contractor.

Position Summary

The Risk Analyst plays a key role in identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating risks across all phases of a major infrastructure project. Working closely with Project Controls, Construction, Engineering, Commercial, Quality, and Safety teams, the Risk Analyst supports proactive risk management initiatives to improve project outcomes related to cost, schedule, safety, quality, and contract compliance. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and maintenance of the project's risk management framework, facilitate risk workshops, perform quantitative risk assessments, and support project leadership with data-driven insights and reporting. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and are passionate about improving project performance through effective risk management.

Reports to: Risk Manager

The Risk Analyst’s Key Responsibilities Are
  • Reporting to the risk manager, the risk analyst collaborates with project stakeholders to identify, assess, and prioritize project risks throughout the construction project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate risk review workshops and liaison with risk and control owners to identify, monitor and update risk and control status
  • Monitor project progress and risk indicators, providing regular updates to the risk manager and adjusting mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among project teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure alignment and support project success.
  • Support cost and schedule risk modelling.
  • Support in tracking and minimizing budget overruns, schedule delays, and quality issues through strategic risk mitigation measures.
  • Prepare detailed project risk reports as required for the project milestones and regular reporting purposes.
  • Ensure consistency between risk management processes and project controls disciplines, including scheduling, cost management, and change management.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Project Risk Management Plan.
  • Support compliance with contractual requirements, project governance standards, and client expectations.
  • Promote a proactive risk management culture across the project organization.
Education And Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in construction project management or risk management, with exposure to infrastructure development projects (rail/transit/tunnel/urban).
Job Requirements
  • Familiarity with infrastructure construction project lifecycle and associated risks.
  • Experience in managing risks on complex construction projects, with knowledge of contractual aspects to mitigate legal and financial risks.
  • Experience with risk management software (SAFRAN software is preferred)
  • Experience in Progressive Design Build (PDB) and Target Price (TP) contracts
  • Project Control background is advantageous
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to think strategically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and deliver accurate and reliable results.

Salary Banding: $125,000 - $135,000
