Job Summary:

Under broad supervision, conducts risk control assessments, evaluations, consulting, and technical support for prospective, new, and renewal business in the Commercial Mid-Market sector.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Performs a variety of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines.
  2. Conducts workplace risk evaluations and provides consultative risk improvement services, making risk recommendations to minimize exposure.
  3. Collaborates with senior risk control staff to assess program needs and implement tailored strategies.
  4. Partners with underwriting and other departments to provide risk evaluation information, including operational issues, claims, profitability, and agency management.
  5. Performs root cause analysis of losses and trending for key accounts.
  6. Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external partners.
  7. Conducts education and training programs.
  8. Identifies opportunities for new products and services.
  9. Provides expertise in specialized areas as needed.
  10. Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Technical expertise in risk control evaluation and assessment, with knowledge of insurance principles and practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle ambiguous situations.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; professional designations preferred.
  • Minimum of three to five years of risk control experience with a proven results track record.
