Job description

Join to apply for the Risk Analytics Operations Lead (Remote) role at ZestyAI

Events in recent years have made us all too familiar with the havoc that natural disasters can wreak, and the increasing frequency and intensity with which they are occurring. Despite record levels of losses, conventional methods of risk modeling continue to paint at best an incomplete picture of these threats.

ZestyAI ingests novel data sources such as high-resolution aerial imagery, building permits, real estate transaction data, etc., and leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) to produce unique insights about risks to properties and communities from natural catastrophes like wildfire and severe convective storms. ZestyAI provides customers in insurance, real estate, financial services, and government sectors valuable intelligence that helps communities better prepare for and navigate catastrophes.

As a Risk Analytics Operations Lead, you thrive in a collaborative, solution-oriented environment. You're energized by new challenges and enjoy finding innovative ways to streamline and optimize processes. Highly detail-oriented, you have a keen eye for inconsistencies that others may overlook. You're exceptionally organized, capable of juggling multiple priorities with ease, and prompt follow-through is second nature to you. Your team knows they can count on you to deliver high-quality work—quickly, accurately, and reliably.

What You'll Do:

  1. Oversee proof-of-concept (POC) data quality assurance processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy throughout the data lifecycle.
  2. Process and validate datasets through ZestyAI workflows, resolving any anomalies before handing off for analytics.
  3. Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and product teams to troubleshoot and resolve data processing errors.
  4. Interface directly with clients to establish and facilitate secure data transfer, validation, and processing required for successful analytics.
  5. Maintain up-to-date tracking of project progress and deliverables using Monday.com, ensuring clear communication and accountability.
  6. Identify opportunities to improve workflows, streamline processes, and enhance data operations efficiency.
  7. Support the development of executive-facing content by preparing visualizations and summaries of Risk Analytics team accomplishments for Board of Directors presentations.
  8. Work with internal stakeholders to coordinate timelines, manage expectations, and deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.
  9. Utilize tools such as Excel, Python, BigQuery, and PowerPoint to support data processing, analysis, automation, and reporting.

What You Bring to the ZestyAI Team

  1. Bachelor's degree
  2. 1-3 years of experience in data analytics/quality assurance
  3. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  4. Experience as a power user of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  5. Proficient in BigQuery and Python
  6. Proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a timely manner

Nice to Have:

  1. Experience in the insurance industry (P&C preferred)
  2. Experience with Business Intelligence or Data Visualization tools such as PowerBI or Looker Studio
  3. Experience with Geospatial software like ArcGIS
  4. Automation experience to streamline processes

Why ZestAI:

  1. Be part of a well-funded growth-stage company
  2. Work culture that fosters individual development with leaders committed to your professional growth
  3. Remote work environment to do what you love from a place you love
  4. Market-competitive compensation and equity incentives to give you a stake in our future
  5. Comprehensive health care plan
  6. Flexible Time Off
  7. An upbeat and collaborative team of smart people who like to win together
