Robertson & Company Ltd. is seeking a Risk Analyst III to support a 6-month engagement with potential extension. The role is based in Toronto, Ontario, with hybrid work arrangements and a starting rate of $40 per hour.

The successful candidate will manage counterparty credit risk, generate risk reports, and coordinate with front office and risk teams to ensure accurate exposure measurement and reporting. Strong knowledge of derivatives, bonds, and capital markets is essential.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • 5–7 years of financial services experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of derivatives, bonds, counterparty credit risk and capital markets.
  • Experience with complex vendor systems.
  • Experience with impact assessments, requirements drafting, and testing.
  • Investigation is a main focus of the role.
  • Risk management experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, VBA, Python and AI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Counterparty Credit Risk by investigating and escalating credit excesses at the facility level.
  • Generate accurate processes to measure and report on exposures per reporting guidelines.
  • Ensure risks are measured, aggregated and analyzed per CAIRO limits.
  • Provide analysis, reporting and monitoring of risk exposures and adherence to internal standards.
  • Record and explain late or missing reports and related metrics.
  • Propose and lead projects to improve efficiencies and business support.
  • Implement changes to policies or processes as needed.
  • Maintain internal controls and governance with outputs quality assessment.
  • Manage operational risk through cross-training, documentation and audits.
  • Liaise with front office traders, Credit Risk Management and other stakeholders.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses of metrics/exposures/transactions.
  • Maintain understanding of derivatives risk modeling.

Our client is a top financial institution with significant North American holdings. They have operations across most major verticals, including institutional & corporate, wealth management, private clients, commercial banking, treasury, and retail banking.

Robertson is seeking a skilled Risk Analyst III to join our client in support of an existing vacancy.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage Counterparty Credit Risk by investigating and escalating credit excesses at the facility level
  • Generate accurate and complete processes to measure and report on exposures ensuring that all reports are submitted as per reporting guidelines
  • Ensure risks within portfolios covered are correctly measured, aggregated, and analyzed in accordance with established and approved CAIRO counterparty limits
  • Provide analysis, reporting and monitoring of risk exposures and adhere to internal standards with regards to violations and the escalation of production issues
  • Ensure that all late or missing reports and related process metrics are recorded, documented and explained appropriately
  • Propose, schedule, plan and champion projects to improve efficiencies in order to provide more effective business support
  • Execute infrastructure changes with regards to implementation of new or revised policies or processes
  • Ensure internal control processes are adequate and documented appropriately as per the governance standards including establishing appropriate review and assessment of the quality of outputs based on business standards
  • Manage operational risk (e.g., cross-training, documentation, and audit)
  • Liaise closely with the Bank’s front office traders, Credit Risk Management, Global Markets Credit, audit, technology groups, and other stakeholders to assist in meeting the Bank’s objectives
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses of specific metrics/exposures/transactions as required by management and stakeholders
  • Maintain a good understanding of the analytical principles underlying the risk management of financial derivatives, including issues that arise regarding financial modeling of products for risk purposes
Experience & Qualification Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • 5 to 7 years of financial services experience required
  • Strong knowledge of financial products (derivatives and bonds), counterparty credit risk and Capital Markets
  • Experience of working with complex systems - (Vendor systems)
  • Experience with performing impact assessments, drafting requirements, and performing testing for projects
  • Investigation (Main focus)
  • Experience in Risk Management roles is a plus
  • Working knowledge of technical tools (SQL/VBA/Python/Artificial Intelligence) is a plus
