Job summary

Skyworks Solutions is seeking a university student for an RFIC design Co‑Op in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This 12‑month position runs January 2027 through December 2027 and involves contributing to Wi‑Fi front‑end module design and RFIC integration.

You will join a diverse team of RFIC, Analog IC, and Module designers, gaining hands‑on experience from concept to high‑volume production and working with cross‑site teams.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in BS, MS, or Ph.D. program in Canada in related fields.
• Knowledge of electronic circuits and principles.
• Interest in RF/microwave and analog circuit design and measurement.
• Interest in semiconductor device physics and IC design.
• Desirable knowledge: ADS, Cadence, HFSS or similar tools.
• Proficient in MS Office and quick learner of company software.
• Self-starter with strong work ethic and time management.

Responsibilities

Skyworks Solutions is seeking a university student for an RFIC design position for its Diversified Analog Solutions business unit at its location in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This is a 1-year position which starts in January 2027 until December 2027.

This candidate will join a diverse team of RFIC, Analog IC, and Module designers assisting in the concept, design, integration, and delivery of complex multichip, multi-technology RFIC-based wireless module solutions for Wi‑Fi applications. This position will provide the student with a well-rounded introduction to the RF electronic component design environment and suits individuals seeking a career in the field of RF and analog integrated circuits.

Skyworks is a world‑class, vertically integrated company with manufacturing capabilities in RF semiconductors, acoustic filters, packaging, and test. The candidate will be involved in all aspects of product realization and work with an extended cross‑site team to validate and deliver high-performance RF products from concept to high-volume markets.

Term: 12-month Co‑Op (Jan '27 - Dec '27)

Required Experience and Skills

• Currently enrolled in a BS, MS, or Ph.D. academic program in Canada (Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics, or related).
• Knowledge of electronic circuits and principles.
• Be familiar and interested in the art of RF/microwave and analog circuit design and measurement.
• Be familiar and interested in semiconductor device physics and integrated circuit design.
  Desirable knowledge/experience includes familiarity with ADS, Cadence, HFSS, or similar designtools.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office (Excel and Word) and have an aptitude for quickly learning other company‑specific software.
• Self‑starter with a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills.
• Good communication, organization, and documentation skills.

The typical pay range for an intern is currently CAD $25.00 - $44.00 per hour. Starting base pay will depend on level of education and the ultimate job duties and requirements.
