Job description

COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

The Canadian Niagara Hotels Group of Companies is one of Canada’s largest, most successful, and diversified entertainment and hospitality organizations. With over 3,500 talented professionals across our business units, we offer a distinctive collection of world-renowned hotels, restaurant brands, cafes and retail, situated just steps from the iconic Niagara Falls.

Our portfolio includes internationally recognized hotel brands such as Marriott, Sheraton, and The Brock – Tapestry by Hilton, along with premier dining destinations including Massimo’s Italian, Fallsview Restaurant, Prime Steakhouse, Morton’s Grille, Milestones Grill + Bar, Hard Rock Café, Rainforest Café, as well as popular retail and café experiences including Starbucksand Hershey– to name a few. Paired with a wide selection of modern amenities that include: a large selection of unique event and meeting spaces, full service spas, fitness centres, rooftop pool/indoor pools, indoor waterpark, and super entertaining arcade makes our property locations unparalleled.

Overview

In this role, you are responsible to second a revenue manager in optimizing revenue and profit using a rational, disciplined decision-making process while managing risk under current and anticipated market conditions.

This role requires attention to detail, strong relationship-building abilities, creative thinking, and an analytical mind.

It requires an ability to multitask, handle large amounts of data and perform different tasks with a high accuracy level. This role has involvement in all 5 hotels operated by Canadian Niagara Hotels (Sheraton Fallsview, Marriott on the Falls, Marriott Fallsview, Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls, Skyline Hotel and Waterpark) and reports to the revenue manager.

The job

Four parts, biggest first.

Group quotes.

Sales asks whether we should take a piece of business and what to charge for it — you work out the answer, usually the same day. Then you watch whether the rooms we held actually get taken, and say something when they don't.

Rates.

Load and check rates, packages and restrictions across the systems. Compare ours against the competition every day, and change what needs changing on the dates that need it.

The morning numbers

The reports build themselves now. Reading them, spotting what's off and getting it fixed the same day — that would be you.

Forecast and budget.

Help put the monthly forecast together and write the short note on why it moved, plus a hand through budget season. Our budget year runs May to April.

You'd take these hotels on alongside the Revenue Manager who carries them all at the moment well and you'll be well positioned for a Revenue Manager role down the line.

You'd be good at this if
  • You're curious — you'd rather work out why a number moved than be told
  • You catch small things. A rate loaded wrong on one date is a real problem here.
  • You'd enjoy a day at a screen digging through data — most of this job is exactly that
  • You stay steady when it's busy — Sales wants an answer, the date is filling, and the number still has to be right
  • You're quick in Excel, and you can explain a number to someone who hates numbers

Time in events, sales, finance or on the front desk is a real plus — you'll already know how a group behaves. Any SQL is appreciated, though we'll teach you what you need.

Never done revenue before?

Most people haven't. The first six months are built to teach you: pricing a group, reading pick-up, the brand systems and forecasting. Marriott and Sheraton training is included, and you'd learn on more hotels than most analysts ever get near, sitting in on real pricing decisions with the Director of Revenue Management. Hands‑on, not classroom.

Your first six months
Month 1

Learn the hotels, sit with Sales and the events team, read through old quotes.

Months 2–3

Start quoting with someone checking your work, and take over the rate loading.

Months 4–6

Quote on your own, and bring rate ideas for the busy dates.
