Job summary

Mister Safety Shoes Inc. in St. Catharines is seeking a part-time Retail Associate to join our local store team. You will engage customers with a consultative approach, explain product features, and help drive sales while maintaining a welcoming retail environment.

We offer training to build product knowledge, opportunities for growth, and a schedule posted two weeks in advance. The role supports a busy retail floor with weekends and evenings possible, in a friendly Canadian-owned company.

Responsibilities

• Process purchases, returns and transactions using the POS system.
• Maintain organized product displays and store presentation.
• Receive, unpack, and organize shipments and inventory; prepare and dispatch orders on time.
• Work with teammates to maintain a welcoming, organized, safe, and high-performing store.

Compensation: $17.95/hour + Sales & Productivity Bonuses
Schedule: Part-Time | 15-24 hours/week

We are currently looking for 1 Part Time Retail Associate to join our St. Catharines location.

What You’ll Do

• Connect with customers, understand their needs, and recommend suitable products using consultative selling techniques.
• Work toward individual and store sales targets and productivity goals while following sales and service standards.
• Learn and explain product features, benefits, fit, and available services.
• Build customer relationships through friendly, responsive service; resolve questions and concerns or elevate when appropriate.
• Process purchases, returns, and other transactions accurately using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
• Maintain organized product displays and store presentation.
• Receive, unpack, and organize shipments and inventory, and prepare and dispatch customer orders accurately and on time.
• Work with teammates to maintain a welcoming, organized, safe, and high-performing store.

• Retail, sales, customer service, or hospitality experience is an asset; a great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with a wide range of customers.
• A sales-focused, solutions-oriented approach and a genuine interest in helping people.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Confidence using computers, POS systems, scanners, and other retail technology.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Availability & Physical Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must be able to:

• Work 15-24 hours per week, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
• Work weekday shifts as late as 8:30 p.m. and weekend shifts as late as 6:30 p.m.
• Stand and move in a wide range of motion comfortably for extended periods throughout your shift.
• Bend, turn, reach, and climb ladders safely when required.
• Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs with assistance.
