Job summary

Mister Safety Shoes Inc. is hiring a Full-Time Retail Associate for our Guelph location. The role focuses on helping customers select the right safety footwear through consultative selling and delivering top-tier service.

You will work toward store sales and productivity goals while maintaining a welcoming shopping environment. We offer a starting rate of $17.95/hour plus sales and productivity bonuses, with health benefits and EAP access after 90 days.

Location: Guelph - Woodlawn Rd W & Hanlon Parkway
Compensation: $17.95/hour + Sales & Productivity Bonuses
Schedule: Full-Time | 35–42 hours per week

We are currently looking for 1 Full-Time Retail Associate to join our Guelph location.

Safety footwear experience is not necessary. We'll provide the product knowledge and training you need to become a trusted resource for our customers.

What You'll Do

• Connect with customers, understand their needs, and recommend suitable products using consultative selling techniques.
• Work toward individual and store sales targets and productivity goals while following sales and service standards.
• Learn and explain product features, benefits, fit, and available services.
• Build customer relationships through friendly, responsive service; resolve questions and concerns or elevate when appropriate.
• Process purchases, returns, and other transactions accurately using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
• Maintain organized product displays and store presentation.
• Receive, unpack, and organize shipments and inventory, and prepare and dispatch customer orders accurately and on time.
• Work with teammates to maintain a welcoming, organized, safe, and high-performing store.

• Retail, sales, customer service, or hospitality experience is an asset; a great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with a wide range of customers.
• A sales-focused, solutions-oriented approach and a genuine interest in helping people.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Confidence using computers, POS systems, scanners, and other retail technology.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Availability & Physical Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must be able to:

• Work 35–42 hours per week, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
• Work weekday shifts as late as 8:30 p.m. and weekend shifts as late as 6:30 p.m.
• Stand and move in a wide range of motion comfortably for extended periods throughout your shift.
• Bend, turn, reach, and climb ladders safely when required.
• Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs with assistance.
