Job summary

Mars Edmonton is seeking a Retail Representative to sell, distribute and merchandise Mars Petcare products across retail channels. This role requires working three days per week (24 hours) in the assigned territory with emphasis on display execution and maintaining stock levels.

Responsibilities include presenting programs to stores, ensuring pricing tags, replenishing fixtures and driving efficient routes to maximize coverage.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required.
• Valid Canadian driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to drive ~100 km daily for sales calls.
• Sales experience is an asset.
• Ability to secure vehicle insurance per Mars Canada Inc.

• Present display programs to customers and suggest orders.
• Present and sell booking sheets to stores.
• Ensure listed products are stocked and properly displayed with store price tags.
• Replenish display fixtures and Mars Petcare racks.
• Work with customers to secure secondary space for displays.
• Apply POS or other marketing materials where applicable.
• Rotate products on-shelf and in backroom to maintain quality and freshness.
• Maintain field sales data in data collection software.
• Manage territory with efficient use of time and resources.
• Plan route schedules according to company coverage model.
• Keep ASM up to date on territory activity.
• Maintain stock of merchandising supplies and POS materials.
• Follow procedures for processing credits/cheques.

The Retail Representative is responsible for selling, distributing and merchandising Mars Petcare products at retail outlets (all channels) in an assigned territory (Edmonton). This position requires the incumbent to work 3 days (24 hours)/week.

What are we looking for?

• A High School diploma is a minimum requirement.
• Ability to lift product (maximum lifting requirement 50 pounds).
• Ability to drive approximately 100 km daily while making sales calls.
• Ability to sustain repeated movement which includes but is not limited to in and out of car movement, bending, leaning, reaching, pushing, pulling and grasping motions.
• Sales experience would be an asset
• Ability to secure level of vehicle insurance coverage as determined by Mars Canada Inc.
• Valid Canadian driver’s license.

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Sell in and maintaining distribution of assigned products.
• Responsible for presenting display programs to customers and suggesting order.
• Presenting and selling booking sheets to stores.
• Ensuring all listed products are stocked and properly displayed on shelves with store price tags.
• Replenishing of display fixtures, including Mars Petcare racks.

• Maintain appropriate data (customer Info, survey recording, tracking, etc.…) in field sales data collection software.

• Plan and organize route schedule according to company call coverage model (frequency and time-in call).
• Keep ASM up to date regarding territory activity.
• Maintain an adequate stock of relevant merchandising supplies and POS materials.
• Follow company procedures for processing credits/cheques
