Job summary

Bass Pro Shops Winnipeg is seeking a Retail Manager to grow the business and lead Outfitters in department operations, merchandising, inventory, pricing, and staff development. You will drive world class service and ensure strong sales performance.

The role requires 3–5 years of retail management, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to lead meetings and coach a team. You will ensure compliance, safety, and high standards while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in retail management with responsibility for sales and merchandising.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
• Ability to read and analyze relevant reports and data.
• Ability to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to understand a variety of financial, compliance, workplace safety and/or technical information.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from others.
• Ability to conduct meetings and presentations to groups.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Strong knowledge of/ability to learn with various office technology and software applications which relate to a retail business.
• Must have a valid Possession and Acquisition License (P.A.L.).

• Staff the departments with "service" oriented Outfitters; participates in interviewing and selection, coordinates training, reviews and evaluates team member performance, prepares weekly work schedules, coaches and motivates Outfitters to promote positive customer relations and a productive team-oriented work environment.
• Resolves customer and Outfitter issues.
• Carries out management functions in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The Retail Manager is accountable for growing the business and people within one or more specialized merchandise departments inside a Bass Pro Shops or Cabela’s retail location.
