Job summary

Aramark in Winnipeg is seeking a Retail Food Service Manager to oversee day-to-day operations for Retail components across multiple units. You will plan, organize, direct, and evaluate performance while providing leadership to a team of food service associates.

What You'll Do

Reporting to the Food Service Director, the Retail Food Service Manager oversees the day-to-day operation(s) for Retail components, inclusive of Franchise and proprietary concepts. This involves planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating the operation. The Retail Food Service Manager is responsible for providing leadership to a team of food service associates within multiple units.

Culinary experiences and well-maintained environments are fundamental to student success.

From brain-powering ingredients to comforting flavor combinations, nutritious food doesn't have to be boring. Aramark chefs and dietitians are constantly reviewing the latest insights and food trends to find the next culinary innovation and help students discover their love of food.

We partner with you to enhance the student experience, support parents, and collaborate with administration, all while delivering on the expectations of parents and the community.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for making sure the daily operation of the component are running smoothly with the understanding that there will be times when you'll have to 'jump in' and work within the component


• Implements and leads compliance on all Aramark operating standards, Franchise standards, and legislated standards within the component including company policy and procedure, Health and Safety Standards and Safe Food Handling


• Develops operational component forecasts each period and is able to explain variances in sales, costs and operational activities


• Responsible for overseeing staff scheduling, tracks daily labour on schedule and reports to Director of Retail Operations on a daily basis


• Responsible for inventory controls, food, labour and direct costs


• Assist on a weekly basis with inventory


• Ensure quality, courteous service is provided to all customers


• Works with the team to manage all hiring, staffing, labour, progressive discipline, accommodation, training and administration of HR policies


• Assist in disciplinary action alongside the Food Service Director and Human Resources


• Develops and motivates Supervisory staff to attain proper standards of performance


• Liaise with the Marketing Manager to launch Marketing Initiatives and Promotions


• Monitor equipment repair and maintenance


• Collects, records, and deposits all revenues received at the component


• Maintains compliance of all cash handling and cash auditing procedures, reports any overage/shortages


• Ensure adherence to Aramark's policies and procedures


• Ensure adherence to Aramark's Health and Safety Programs

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a fast paced food service environment.


• Knowledge of computerized spreadsheet and word processing programs.


• Strong financial literacy re: food, labour cost, inventory control.


• Self-directed with strong interpersonal and communications skills.


• Strong organizational and time management skills.


• Positive attitude and genuine customer focus orientation


• Able to be flexible, evening and weekend shifts when required.

The pay range for this position is $53,045.00 - $65,776.00.
