The Role

As a Retail Floor Supervisor, you lead store operations on the retail floor. Your responsibilities include overseeing and motivating staff, delegating tasks, managing visual merchandising, inventory, and sales strategies. You ensure a positive customer experience, maintain an organized store environment, and foster teamwork to drive store success and profitability.

Duties and Responsibilities
Departmental Duties
  • Conduct regular floor walks to prioritize tasks and delegate accordingly.
  • Manage assigned zone responsibilities.
  • Handle register transactions accurately, including exchanges, refunds, and tax exemptions.
  • Verify merchandise pricing when necessary.
  • Address customer inquiries, complaints, and transactions promptly.
  • Ensure proper stocking and merchandise organization.
  • Create and execute weekly staff schedules.
  • Manage store funds, including reconciliation and security.
  • Complete administrative duties accurately and on time.
  • Lead the team in sales events and promotions.
Leadership
  • Oversee store operations, make decisions, and take appropriate actions.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of staff.
  • Train team members on POS, customer service, merchandising, and loss prevention.
  • Support management through meetings and information sharing.
Employee Relations
  • Guide staff on policies and procedures.
  • Report infractions and participate in performance reviews.
  • Implement recognition programs.
Health and Safety
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all store areas.
  • Follow theft prevention protocols and respond to theft incidents.
  • Identify and report hazards, ensuring a safe workplace.
  • Manage workplace accidents and documentation.
Other Duties
  • Maintain professionalism in communication.
  • Collaborate with management to meet operational goals.
  • Handle opening and closing procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Core Competencies

Qualifications
  • 4+ years retail experience.
  • 3+ years managerial experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Experience in thrift retail is a plus.
  • Open availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license and abstract preferred.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Stand and walk for entire shift.
  • Perform repetitive motions, lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull heavy loads.
  • Exposure to dust, temperature changes, noise.
  • Interact with customers and team members.
