Syntax is seeking a seasoned SAP FICO Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of SAP S/4HANA FICO solutions in a Retail‑Fashion setting. You will bridge finance stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring effective implementation, optimization, and alignment with business goals in a cloud-enabled environment.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive SAP FICO and S/4HANA expertise, and the ability to guide cross‑functional teams and pre‑sales efforts in a global context.

Qualifications

• 12+ years SAP FICO experience.
• 3 full-cycle SAP S/4HANA implementations in leadership roles within retail fashion.
• Proficiency with SAP Activate, Public/Private ERP, Group Reporting, and omnichannel reconciliation.
• Cloud capabilities and core finance processes knowledge.
• SAP Best Practices and Fit-to-Standard methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, configuration, and implementation of SAP S/4HANA FICO solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze financial processes and ensure integration with SAP Retail components.
• Facilitate fit-to-standard workshops; drive process optimization and guide project teams.

Job Summary

Syntax is seeking an experienced SAP FICO Solution Architect with a robust background in the Retail‑Fashion Industry. This role is pivotal in leading the design and delivery of innovative financial solutions utilizing SAP S/4HANA (both Public and Private Cloud) and integrating omnichannel capabilities. The architect will serve as a bridge between finance stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that SAP FICO functionalities are effectively implemented, optimized, and aligned with business objectives in a retail fashion environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP S/4HANA FICO solutions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to analyze financial processes, recommend improvements, and ensure effective integration with other SAP Retail portfolio components.
• Facilitate fit‑to‑standard workshops, drive process optimization, and guide project teams through successful solution delivery.
• Define the SAP FICO roadmap, aligning it with business objectives and emerging technology trends in financial management.
• Ensure compliance alignment by adhering to financial regulations and security policies related to SAP FICO solutions.
• Shape reporting and analytics capabilities in the cloud to enhance decision‑making processes.
• Act as a trusted advisor on best practices within the Retail Industry.
• Lead and mentor a team of SAP consultants, promoting knowledge sharing, technical growth, and professional development.
• Serve as a pre‑sales advisor to provide insights on technologies that deliver business results and demonstrate the added value of innovative solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 12+ years of SAP FICO experience, including a minimum of 3 full‑cycle SAP S/4HANA implementations in a leadership role within the retail fashion industry.
• Proficiency with SAP Activate, SAP Public and Private ERP, Group Reporting, and omnichannel bank reconciliation.
• In‑depth knowledge of core finance processes and cloud‑specific capabilities.
• Familiarity with SAP Best Practices and Fit‑to‑Standard implementation methodology.
• Technical skills: Hands‑on experience with SAP S/4HANA, Fiori, and cloud‑based SAP solutions specific to financial management.
• Proven leadership abilities with a track record of guiding SAP FICO projects and technical teams.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex SAP financial environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency in English is necessary for client‑facing implementation activities across multiple regions.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud certification.
• Experience with Public Cloud extensibility (In‑App/Side‑by‑Side) and integration frameworks.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud certification is preferred.
• Salary $140,000 - $170,000 CAD
