Job description

The Role

The Retail Department at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital is seeking to appoint motivated and experienced Catering Assistants to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of catering duties within our on-site retail outlet, ensuring the delivery of a high standard of food service, food safety, and customer service.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

There are 4x part-time posts available with the following hours:

  • 2x 4 hours per week
  • 2x 15 hours per week
These Are The Shift Patterns Available
  • 1 – Sunday only
  • 1 – Monday only
  • 2 – Monday-Friday with hours to be worked between 7am & 7pm on a rota basis.

The roles are based at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The shift pattern for the posts are 5 over 7 pattern and require weekend work. The location is the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

  • Experience in Barista skill

From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part-time working hours will be reduced on a pro-rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
