Job Overview
As a
Restaurant Supervisor, you will assist in managing the daily operations of the restaurant, bar, and room service. You’ll ensure service standards are consistently met, guide and support the team, and help maximize food and beverage performance.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Train, schedule, and supervise staff to ensure smooth service and appropriate coverage.
- Monitor team performance; provide coaching and escalate concerns to management as needed.
- Respond to guest requests and complaints with professionalism; apply service recovery procedures when necessary.
- Supervise activity across all food and beverage outlets including the restaurant, bar, and room service.
- Ensure food presentation and buffet displays meet brand standards.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate daily specials, events, and operational updates.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in dining areas; inspect restaurant regularly.
- Ensure side duties are completed and tables are set properly before, during, and after service.
- Promote teamwork through clear communication and collaboration with other departments.
- May assist with guest seating, food and beverage service, and reservations.
- Support banquet operations as needed.
- Maintain a professional image at all times through proper dress and conduct.
- Follow company policies, health regulations, and Marriott brand standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications And Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of food service experience in a full-service restaurant or similar environment. Supervisory experience is an asset.

- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Basic math and cash handling abilities
- Organizational, motivational, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in completing reports, schedules, and staff briefings
- Certificates: Valid food handler’s permit and/or alcohol service certification as required by local or provincial regulations
- Physical Requirements:
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Remain standing for extended periods
- Move throughout restaurant and kitchen areas
- Perform tasks involving bending, stooping, and kneeling
- Schedule: Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
