Serve as a bridge between artists and programmers to ensure the delivery of visually appealing content that functions on target platforms. Overcome technical challenges related to art and feature creation.
Leadership
- Lead a team and foster an engaging atmosphere to achieve optimal project results and support team members' personal growth.
- Maintain artistic direction and visual quality standards.
- Create final materials for characters, environment assets, and effects; support existing material systems.
- Develop content by modeling elements in external programs or tweaking shader code; experiment with new features.
- Refine assets using modeling and texturing skills.
- Assist in improving shaders, textures, and lighting quality.
- Collaborate on artistic vision and style with the Art Director, ensuring quality across the development pipeline.
Production & Deadlines
- Develop efficient workflows for the art team.
- Research and implement new techniques to enhance game asset quality.
- Work closely with the production team to assign tasks and meet deadlines, while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
- Create pipelines and processes that facilitate high visual quality and efficient 3D asset creation.
- Provide daily feedback to improve visual quality and collaboratively resolve issues.
Collaboration & Communication
- Share knowledge and mentor peers.
- Collaborate with Tech Art and lead R&D initiatives to improve pipelines and workflows.
- Communicate effectively across departments with leads, directors, and stakeholders to ensure efficiency and clarity.
- Identify and resolve pipeline issues independently.
- Use diagnostic tools to analyze content and develop solutions.
- Optimize art assets for performance on consoles and PC.
- Work with programmers and artists to optimize content creation and develop new features.
- Conduct performance and compensation reviews; oversee recruitment and onboarding processes.
