Job summary

A.S.P. Incorporated is seeking a Respite Security Specialist Supervisor in Ontario, Toronto, to lead a team of security professionals protecting respite shelters and commercial properties.

You will supervise guards, monitor security systems, patrol routes, and maintain open communication with clients and ASP to ensure service excellence. The role requires at least two years in security, including supervisory experience, a valid security license, and knowledge of the Criminal Code and safety

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of security experience
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience
• Must possess a valid Security license
• Eligible to work in Canada
• Must have knowledge of the Criminal Code, Trespass to Property Act, WHMIS

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Security Specialists
• Maintain open communication with the client and ASP
• Provide security guard services at respite shelters, using security systems, monitoring and patrolling
• Observe and respond to security breaches, fire hazards, theft, and emergencies
• Act as a client-site ambassador, assist visitors, and conduct guard tours
• Screen unauthorized persons and handle trespass or criminal activity
• Record daily activities and issue equipment to staff
• Perform open/close procedures, bomb-threat checks, and equipment inspections
• Execute emergency response per the Emergency Response Manual

Responsibilities:

• Managing and leading a team of Security Specialists


• Maintaining an open line of communication with the client and ASP


• Providing Security Guard Services at Respite Shelters, through operating Security Systems, monitoring and patrolling


• Observing, investigating, and acting on possible breaches of security, fire and safety hazards, illegal entry, theft and malfunction or interruption of utilities and informing designated authorities in event of emergency


• Acting as an ambassador of the client site by providing customer service, responding to public inquiries, and performing guard tours along designated routes. Assist in the movement of visitors and staff


• Screening unauthorized person and physically removing person found trespassing or engaging in criminal acts or breaching the policies. Legally arrest individual and surrender same to Police as soon as possible


• Recording and maintaining logbook of daily activities, unusual or special occurrences and issuance of equipment to staff


• Performing duties such as open-up and lock-down procedures, bomb threat searches and security/life safety equipment inspections and testing


• Performing emergency response duties in accordance with the Emergency Response Manual.

Who you are:

• Minimum of two (2) years of security related experience IS A MUST


• Including minimum of two (2) years of supervisory related experience IS A MUST


• Minimum High School diploma or Grade 12 education.


• Eligible to work in Canada.


• Must have extensive knowledge of the Criminal Code, Trespass to Property Act, 5 Steps to a proper Arrest and WHMIS.


• Must Possess a valid Security license


• Must have experience in modern corporate building security/law enforcement, security systems and their functions, tactical security.


• Proficient with various security hardware, software, keying & systems, and Microsoft Office.


• Excellent written & verbal communication and active listening skills.


• Able to work in nights, weekends, weekdays, and holidays.


• Clean shave policy is followed at Respite Sites (Accommodations can be discussed)

Compensation

-Expected compensation: $22.00 – $24.00 per hour
