Qualifications

• Fellowship in Respirology with RCPSC.
• Eligible for Independent license by CPSBC.
• Canadian Permanent Residency or Canadian citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory consultation to the hospital for in- and outpatients.
• No official on-call requirement; no general internal medicine call.
• Take consults from hospitalists and internists (about 1–5 per week) for inpatients during weekdays 9–5, excluding holidays.
• Outpatient referrals from ER and community.

We are seeking a Respirologist who will provide a mix of inpatient hospital consultations, Level 3 pulmonary function testing (PFT) diagnostics, and office-based practice.

This is ideal for an experienced respirologist looking for a change in scenery. Located in the beautiful sunny community of White Rock, British Columbia, right next to the beach, with a robust growing community with all the amenities. Peace Arch Hospital is a community hospital in the Fraser Health region.

Services Available To Support a Respirologist Include

• Bronchoscopy suite - no EBUS
• Level 3 pulmonary function lab
• 169 acute care beds
• 8 ICU/CCU beds closed unit cared by Internal medicine
• Free parking for staff and patients, less than 10 minute drive, door to door, to the hospital
• Thoracic surgery at Surrey Memorial Hospital with 5 busy thoracic surgeons.
• BC Cancer Agency site, Fraser Valley Cancer Centre, adjacent to Surrey Memorial Hospital.

The Ideal Candidate For The Position Will Have

• Fellowship in Respirology with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada
• Eligible for Independent license by the College of Physicians & Surgeons of BC (CPSBC)
• Canadian Permanent Residency or a Canadian citizen
• Strong interpersonal & collaborative skills and be dedicated to service excellence
  
  

Remuneration

• Fee for service for clinical work and diagnostics
• Sessional TB clinic work also available at the New Westminster TB clinic, under the auspices of the Division of TB Control, BCCDC.
• Can apply for clinical position with UBC Department of Medicine.
