Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a part-time Respiratory Services Assistant (SBH) within the Clinical Support stream. This in-person term role (0.20 FTE) supports respiratory therapy operations at St.

Boniface Hospital with 7.75 hours per day and 2015 annual base hours. Ideal candidates are enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program or related health sciences, possess basic computer skills, and demonstrate strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Experience

• Previous related experience working with Respiratory Therapy Equipment and/or in the general field of respiratory therapy preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• Manitoba High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• Currently enrolled as a 2nd or 3rd year student and in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education program (Preference will be given to students of the Max Rady Faculty of Health Science: Respiratory Therapy Program students).

SPECIAL TRAINING:

• On-the-job training (up to 6 months) is provided by the Respiratory Therapy Department.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift heavy medical equipment (up to 45 lbs.).
• Ability to push wheeled medical equipment.
• May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, radiation, toxic materials, noise, and allergens.
