St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Assistant - Student. Under supervision, you will assist the Respiratory Therapist in a non-clinical capacity to provide respiratory care to patients.

The term position supports the department during days, evenings, and weekends with in-person work. Applicants should be enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and may be required to complete background checks and on-the-job training.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Currently enrolled in 2nd or 3rd year of respiratory therapy education program.
• On-the-job training provided for up to 6 months.

Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Program Manager, Subspecialty Critical Care, and the direction of the Registered Respiratory Therapist, while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital. The Respiratory Therapy Assistant - Student is responsible for assisting the Respiratory Therapist in a non-clinical fashion to provide respiratory care to patients at St. Boniface Hospital.

Experience

• Previous related experience working with Respiratory Therapy Equipment and/or in the general field of respiratory therapy preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• Manitoba High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• Currently enrolled as a 2nd or 3rd year student and in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education program (Preference will be given to students of the Max Rady Faculty of Health Science: Respiratory Therapy Program students).

SPECIAL TRAINING:

• On-the-job training (up to 6 months) is provided by the Respiratory Therapy Department.

• Ability to lift heavy medical equipment (up to 45 lbs.).
