Job summary

Interior Health in Kamloops is hiring a permanent full-time Community Respiratory Therapist to deliver respiratory therapy services in hospital and community settings. You will promote respiratory health, assess, educate, treat, and rehabilitate patients, and collaborate with other health professionals.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized program in Respiratory Therapy.
• Successful completion of the Health Professionals Testing Canada (HPTC) Credentialing Exam.
• Eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT).
• Two years’ recent experience in pulmonary rehabilitation, asthma education, respiratory home care, home ventilation, home oxygen, and sleep disordered breathing screening, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Current valid BC driver’s license.

• Promote respiratory health and educate patients and families.
• Assess, educate, treat and rehabilitate patients with respiratory dysfunction.

We are hiring for a permanent full-time Community Respiratory Therapist in Kamloops. Applicable positions may qualify for up to $15,000 as a recruitment incentive and/or be eligible for relocation allowance.

Tuesday to Friday

Shift times/Hours of work:

07:00 to 17:00

About the role:

The Community Respiratory Therapist works within the hospital and community to deliver respiratory therapy services and programs related to Community Respiratory Therapy:

• The promotion of respiratory health
• The assessment, education, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with respiratory dysfunction
• Communicating and demonstrating community and hospital based respiratory care procedures to other health care professionals and students
• The use of respiratory equipment or special procedures
