Job summary

The Ottawa Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. You will operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, support patient care, and collaborate with clinicians across campuses.

Days and evenings with 8- and 10-hour shifts, within a vibrant, high-volume hospital environment dedicated to compassionate, high-quality care. Eligibility to work in Canada and professional registration are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Current and active general certificate of registration or eligibility for general certification with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (C.R.T.O.).
• Certified in BCLS.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Sound judgement and problem-solving abilities.
• Eligible to work in Canada.

Days, and evenings, 8 and 10 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements

• Successful completion of a Diploma from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program;
• Current and active general certificate of registration or eligibility for general certification with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (C.R.T.O.) without limitation;
• Certified in BCLS;
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Superior written and verbal communication skills;
• Sound judgement and problem-solving abilities;
• Eligible to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

• Membership in Respiratory Therapy Professional Association(s);
• Proficiency in English and French oral expression (level 4 - advanced) and comprehension (level 4 - advanced).

The Ottawa Hospital uses a 5-level language proficiency scale to define the required level of language skills in English and in French for positions at the Hospital, and to evaluate job candidate language skills.
