Northern Health is seeking a passionate Respiratory Therapist to join their dynamic Respiratory department in Fort St. John. In alignment with our organization's vision and values, the Respiratory Therapist practices according to the standards set by the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and within a client and family-centered care model. You will perform ongoing respiratory care in a multidisciplinary setting for clients with various illnesses, including acute and chronic cardio-respiratory conditions, working independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Your role will enhance quality of life for clients and their families, involving collaboration with other healthcare professionals. You will demonstrate continuous improvement, maintain and advance your clinical competence, and participate in committees, teams, or research projects as assigned.
Days, Nights, 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 (rotating)
The hospital has 44 acute care beds and 124 residential beds, capable of handling 22,000 ER visits annually. Facilities include an endoscopy suite, two state-of-the-art operating rooms, ambulatory clinics (including Cancer and Hemodialysis), medical and surgical inpatient rooms, three ICU units, minor surgeries, and seven maternity rooms. Fort St. John also hosts a health unit and primary care clinic serving the community.
Known as "The Energetic City," Fort St. John is rich in natural resources like oil, gas, forestry, and agriculture. Situated above the Peace River Valley, it serves as the regional hub for the Northeast, with a population of over 21,400 and a service area of approximately 70,000. The city boasts cultural centers, schools, a college campus, and outdoor activities, making it a vibrant community to live and work in.
